So, I’m walking down the street after getting a pastry brush that cost like 5 effing dollars and I’m talking to my wife about Super Husbands.

And we were talking about how tired we both are of post movie fics being all the same and mostly about how they hated each other and learned to get along or have hate sex.
And then we started talking about the idea that, really, they don’t even hate each other because, like, what are we going on?
Interaction in the plane. Tony was teasing/flirty. Pretty much like how he is with Rhodey. Rhodey, his BFF Hetero-life-partner. Steve is not responding really because he is still figuring Tony out, he is still figuring everything out. He doesn’t know how to relate to someone like him. But he is still perfectly fine until Tony jumps out after Thor and even then he never says he was wrong/bad for it.
Then in the Hellicarrier. No one is really at their best. Loki is manipulating the worst out of them. All their doubts and fears. Steve would never had said those things. He is not a bully. Tony reacts because he is hurt. Things get out of hand. But the minute they are able to shake the control Steve is trying to help Tony.
The line about ‘this is the guy my dad never stopped talking about’ or whatever. Yeah, it comes out bitter but honestly they are all frayed at that point. Really, all this means is that Tony grew up with stories of Captain America. Can you imagine actually meting your childhood hero like that? Anything is going to be a let down and Tony’s hardly seeing Steve at his best under the infinity gems power.
And again when Tony storms off after Coulson’s death, Steve goes to him. Tries to comfort him. Tries to connect and isn’t aggressive or defensive.
And Tony actually opens up to him. He doesn’t DO that. Tony doesn’t talk about his shit. He can’t. Even when he tried with Pepper, he can never manage voice his problems to other people.
Then you have them fighting together, totally in sync, like they’ve been doing it for years. Tony falling in and trusting Cap to lead, showing him massive respect there. And Steve seeing Tony ready to give himself to save everyone (not that this is at all OCC for him, that is what Tony does really, what the hell footage did Fury show him?)
So yeah. Not really seeing a lot of hate there.
lol oh yeah. i meant like, in the way lucius malfoy dislikes dumbledore (tho that’s not to imply that the starks would be deatheaters)
Yeah I can’t read sometimes. Would Howard hate Dumbledore? Not sure. I think that would imply if he could make money off of a wizarding war. Howard was an ass but I don’t think he’s the ‘lets kill muggles’ type. It would depend on how involved Howard would have been with the school. Lucius attacked it(The School) as a way to make little death eaters and clear out muggle borns and he attacked Dumbledore as an obvious threat to Voldemort. Since Howard would probably not REALLY be involved in that kinda stuff, as I don’t think it would make him any money to attack the school/Dumbledore. So, no, I don’t think he’d hate him.
I could see Howard wanting to send Tony to Durmstrang though as a way to Man Him Up.

I would think Dumbledore would have a little bit more class than to date someone like Howard.

So regardless of where we think anyone goes in whatever house (Which..honestly, none of our Heroes would go to Hogwarts and they’d go to the American Witching School..the ones where the witches at the Quidditch World Cup who draped the American Flag all over their tents would have gone to)….can we all just settle onto the fact that Hufflepuffs probably smell like cake?
